Patrick Kornegay (President) – Pat Kornegay began his career in aviation in 1974
when he started working as a commercial pilot. Since that time he has
accumulated more than 31,000 hours flying time in heavy transports, agricultural
aircraft, initial attack fire tankers, turboprop, corporate jets, and general aviation
aircraft. Pat holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with several type ratings
along with an A&P Aircraft Mechanic’s Certificate with Inspection Authorization.
He holds ATP licenses in Mexico, Nicaragua, and the Republic of Ecuador and
along with Sun Valley Aviation investor Grant Lane has exported over 150 aircraft
to countries throughout Latin America since the 1980s.
In 2008 Sun Valley Aviation Inc. was formed by a diverse group of investors to bring a new, full service FBO facility to the Rio Grande Valley. Sun Valley Aviation provides high quality aviation products and services to South Texas and Latin America. Our investor team includes several commercially rated pilots and A&P mechanics with Inspection Authorization.
Sun Valley Aviation is an FAA Certified Repair Station offering repairs, maintenance, and inspection services on a wide array of general aviation and agricultural aircraft. Our Avionics division can handle everything from basic ADSB compliance and pitot static checks to major avionics upgrades for general aviation aircraft through corporate jets.
Sun Valley Aviation is an AvFuel branded aviation fuel dealer and services the majority of major airlines flying into Harlingen along with general aviation and corporate aircraft. In 2019 Sun Valley Aviation was voted #12 of the top 50 most popular FBOs in the United States on the nationwide FltPlan.com pilot survey.
